DB Cargo at the Project Cargo Summit online 2021

Project Cargo Summit online 2021 is the conference for worldwide experts and industry leaders in project cargo and breakbulk, where industry players meet and share their knowledge. To that end, the event combines a top-notch, three-day conference programme with online networking solutions for individuals.

Maarten de Ridder, Head of International Sales at DB Cargo, was one of the experts attending this year's summit. After all, DB Cargo has a long tradition when it comes to transporting project cargo in Europe. Just recently, DB Cargo organised the turnkey transport of a 38-tonne, 5.5-metre roller from Terni, Italy to a steelworks in IJmuiden. A train carried the roller from Italy to Amsterdam, while lorries handled the last phase of transport. It took just shy of four days to cover the journey, which spans more than 1,600 kilometres from door to door.

Experience pays

DB Cargo has a long tradition of organising and executing project cargo. Rail is ideally suited for transporting large and heavy loads. Customised wagons of 12 to 25 metres in length haul the freight, their loading heights increased by low loaders and semi low loaders. Twenty-tonne axle loads are standard, and rail can often take on even heavier loads. All the cargo runs through our own network, which reaches all over Europe.
