Gasunie project Porthos; CO2 transport tubes

In cooperation with Lubbers Projects &Services, DB Cargo transported tubes per train to the CT Delta terminal op Maasvlakte in Rotterdam. From there Lubbers Projects & Services organised the onward transport to the Gasunie storage location. The tubes are a crucial part in the Porthos project in which CO2 from the industries in the Rotterdam harbour are transported and stored in empty gasfields under the North Sea. For the project DB Cargo used over 100 wagons of the Snps type in a twice weekly service. These wagons have a length of 19 meters and are very suitable for long loads such as tubes and steel profiles. By cooperating with partners such as Lubbers Logistics DB Cargo is able to provide door-to-door services for projects such as Porthos. Watch the full movie of the transport here.
