If EU goods are transported via Switzerland this is done without (T2L) customsformalities. DB Cargo does this by using Simplified Customs Transport by rail scheme.
Starting 29 October 2024 the previous named simplified scheme can no longer be used.
However EU goods can still be transported by rail without customs formalities via Switzerland. To do so, the T2 Swiss Corridor scheme has to be applied. This is a Customsregulation based on Swiss customs law but which T2L is no longer needed.
Swiss Customs demands that the railoperator put forward extensive data on the transport one of which being the HS goodscode and description of the goods.
