DB Cargo and DB Schenker join forces for relief goods from the Netherlands to Ukraine

Relief good from Netherlands direct to Ukraine • Transport is free of charge for donors • Containers via European rail network DB Cargo

(Tilburg/Utrecht, March 14, 2022) DB Cargo and DB Schenker are joining forces to transport relief goods from the Netherlands directly to Ukraine. DB Cargo and DB Schenker are linking up with the 'railway land bridge' that Deutsche Bahn opened between Germany and the Ukraine last week. This network can be used by companies and large sponsors to send large quantities of freight to Ukraine. For donations of relief goods, the transport is free. There is currently still capacity in this logistics network to bring relief goods to Ukraine.

The DB Cargo and DB Schenker logistics teams are working hand in hand to transport donations in full containers to Ukraine on DB Cargo's European rail network. The containers are transported by train from the Netherlands to two terminals in Germany. Although the road infrastructure and border crossings between Poland and Ukraine are completely overloaded, rail transport between the two countries still functions.

If you are interested in transporting relief goods to Ukraine, please contact the DB Hotline. The transport is free of charge for donors. The Hotline is manned from 08.00 to 20.00 on weekdays.

Nanouke van 't Riet, CEO/COO DB Cargo Netherlands: "I am deeply moved by the suffering in Ukraine. The spontaneous solidarity in Europe is heart-warming. I would like to make a contribution to this with my colleagues at DB Schenker and DB Cargo by bringing relief goods from the Netherlands to the people of the Ukraine."

Leon Jansen, CEO DB Schenker BeNeLux: “Now is the time to act and not to wait. By working together, we can provide emergency assistance directly to Ukraine. We are using our extensive European logistics network to deliver relief goods directly to the people of Ukraine. I am enormously proud of all my colleagues who are offering their help to help the people who need it so urgently.”
